Open since 1938, Alta is one of the oldest ski areas in the US, attracting skiers of all abilities to experience its incredible snow – which averages almost 14 metres per season. While known for its steep and challenging terrain, one of the area’s best kept secret is the easily accessible beginner area in the Albion Basin. There are also wide-open bowls created by glacier activity that are perfect for intermediate skiers. One of only three ski areas in the US that don’t allow snowboarding, Alta is a skier’s only mountain.

Deep powder snow, rugged terrain and spectacular scenery are world renown charateristics of Alta. Its best kept secret is the great beginner and intermediate terrain. The wide variety of awesome terrain and snow conditions provide skiing opportunities for every level of skier.
