Aspen is consistently rated one of the world’s top ski areas and along with great skiing the town has so much to offer with its rich and vibrant history. Originally a mining town, Aspen began attracting recreational skiers after the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Comprised of four mountains; Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass, all on the one lift pass, making it one of the largest combined ski areas in North America. The four ski areas, the town of Aspen and Snowmass Village are connected by a convenient and free shuttle, running from 6:15am until 2:15am. The skiing is varied and can suit any level of skier as each mountain has its own character. When the day is done head to Ajax Tavern, the iconic après-ski spot at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola. The Victorian style of this town will charm you with hundreds of shops to choose from. These range from souvenir shops to designer boutiques and stunning art galleries. People flock from around the world to enjoy high profile events such as the Winter X Games which take place at the end of January each year. Snowmass is the largest of the four Aspen region mountains. It has an excellent range of hotels and apartment properties, most of which are ski-in/ski-out. There are a good variety of restaurants and shops and the town of Aspen is just a short bus ride away. The terrain is fantastic and varied with some very long cruising runs on mid mountain and some really challenging areas on the upper mountain. The speedy Village Express makes getting from the base to the slopes quick and easy. The Sky Cab, a six passenger gondola, takes you from the base to the Snowmass Village Mall in just two minutes. The children’s specific Tree House Kids Adventure Centre is located right at the base of the Snowmass Ski Area and houses the children’s ski school with themed rooms, teen activities and kid’s retail, making the Adventure Centre a great place for children of all ages. Snowmass is now home to the Breathtaker Coaster, which winds through the trees and has a total ride time of almost ten minutes. Snowmass really is a wonderful place for families to stay.

 

Experience big mountain skiing and small-town charm at Breckenridge. Fondly known as “Breck”, this quaint Victorian architectural mining town is one of Colorado’s most welcoming all-round ski resorts. With an annual snowfall of over 900 centimetres, Breckenridge is a powder hound’s dream. Ride on the Imperial Express Superchair and hike to the summit, or ski the long 3.5 mile 4 O’Clock Run. Located in the south west of Colorado, Crested Butte is an unspoilt gem with a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Visitor friendly with fantastic skiing, this diverse mountain resort has slopes which naturally divide from long green and blue cruisers to the extreme terrain of the North Face and Headwall.

The uncrowded slopes, fantastic grooming and snow conditions gives a sense of freedom and confidence.
